Store Update!

May 2 was exactly 3 months away from The Heart's Desire planned store opening in August! Now we're down to almost June 2nd - which is only 2 months away!

That's right, opening day is set for August 2, 2022. Make sure it's in your calendars! If you missed the big location announcement on Facebook or Instagram, here it is: our location will be at 721 West 1st Street, Hastings, NE 68901! The store is left of Allo, across the street from the Cameron building, and a short walk from Murphy's! The business currently there, Queen City Interiors, has been a blast to work with! They are also being very kind in letting me move in in August. So if you have a chance to stop into their store before they switch locations, please do so! They have many wonderful items!

With the first day of classes coming up, I wanted to give a rough estimate of what times classes will be in August. As soon as the kiln arrives in September, class times will change to include clay classes.

  • Adult drawing classes will take place on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

  • Children's drawing/painting classes will be on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

  • Adult painting Classes will take place on Thursdays at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and Saturday mornings at 11 a.m. These will change between oil and acrylic through out the month. I will announce these changes in the newsletter the month before.

  • Friday and Saturday afternoon/evenings are times planned out for private parties. So if you want to have a girls night, birthday party, etc., you can have your party at The Heart's Desire!

If you're interested in getting updates like the above on a monthly basis (beyond what is posted on Facebook or Instagram) subscribe to our monthly newsletter! It's a great way to get deals early as well as know what classes will occur every month.

Shout out to everyone who has donated books to the store. I am eternally grateful to you! I have a great start to the used books section of the store, including used books for kids. I also want to thank those who were able to donate bookshelves. That is huge as well because shelves aren't cheap! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

In the future, if you're looking to get rid of some books, I will gladly try to take them. For now, unless we've spoken, I cannot take anymore donations. My poor house might just explode! Thank you for being amazing Hastings! Dacia
