August & September

The last month and a half have been a whirlwind of activity, joy and much more. I'm so thankful for my community and for everyone who has come in to the store. I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.

Great news for September!

Clay classes start next week! Tuesday will be the first wheel throwing classes and Friday will be the first hand building classes. I'm super excited to get my hands into the clay! If you're interested in taking one of the clay classes, be sure to sign up. There's only 6 seats open in throwing classes and 10 open in hand building.

But how do you sign up for classes? I have a video up on the Facebook page explaining how, but if you ever have any questions you should be able to use the chat box on the website. A message will be sent to me directly and I'll be able to message you back!

BOOK SUGGESTIONS:

If you're looking for something new to read, I have a couple of suggestions for you!

If you enjoy reading fiction, perhaps lean more towards teen/young adult, Rick Riordan's Heroes of Olympus series should be on your list! It's a spin off from Percy Jackson and the Olympians that will have you on the edge of your seat with the excitement of the adventure!

"A new Great Prophecy, a new generation of demigods – the adventures have just begun! In this new five-book series, expect to see your old friends from the Percy Jackson books along with a great new cast of main characters, as the heroes of Camp Half-Blood embark on their most dangerous challenge yet."

If you're looking for something a little more mysterious to read, I have a book for you.

Andrew Mayne is a great author, and his book Murder Theory will have you holding your breath.

"Imitation can be the most terrifying form of flattery.

Computational biologist and serial-killer hunter Dr. Theo Cray receives an off-the-record request from the FBI to investigate an inexplicable double homicide. It happened at the excavation site where a murderer had buried his victims' remains. In custody is a forensic technician in shock, with no history of aggression. He doesn't remember a thing. His colleagues don't even recognize the man they thought they knew. But an MRI reveals something peculiar. And abnormal."

I'm looking forward to what October brings! There will be a lot of fun classes that I hope many people will be able to come and enjoy!

If you're looking for a certain book, and I don't have it, ask about ordering it! I'm looking to help book clubs, students, and teachers alike who need or want certain books.

Hours changed from what they were when I opened in August. This is due to traffic during the 8-9 hour not being very heavy. It's hard to stay open that late, pay for electricity and that, when no one is coming in. So the store will now be closing at 8 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and close at 8:30 on Fridays. Wednesday changed to open at 9 am instead of 8:30 am, but will still close at 5:30 pm.

Thank you for taking time to read this blog! As always, if you have any questions or would like to sign up for a class in person, feel free to comment, message, or call the store during open hours. I'll gladly help you!
